Securing valuable expertise with sustainable process management

The Kiel based CITTI group has grown considerably in recent years and, together with JOMO under the joint company name of CHEFS CULINAR, has become one of Germany’s biggest grocery suppliers in the wholesale delivery sector. The company also operates shopping centers (with their own supermarkets) in northern Germany, as well as advising, planning and installing industrial catering facilities and supplying equipment for ships.

Due to the company’s rapid growth and the variety of areas in which it operates, carrying out tasks has become increasingly complex. Previously knowledge about processes often went undocumented and spread across different departments – Business Process Management therefore needed to be tackled urgently.

The department’s project and the Business Process Management initiative began with recording the various departmental requirements in a process-orientated way, and documenting these results in order to make them available to all employees. In the course of evaluating different software solutions, CITTI actively chose the Signavio Process Editor because of the way in which it combines intuitive usability with the comprehensive function portfolio of modern BPM software.

Thanks to the intuitive modeling language BPMN 2.0, processes, responsi­bilities and weaknesses can be clearly presented for IT and other specific departments in clear-cut process chains. The commenting function of the software is a favorite feature, as it makes it possible to reach decisions quickly and to prepare for and carry out meetings more effectively.

With Signavio the whole company now benefits from being able to see an integrated view of processes, as this promotes mutual understanding between IT and other departments.

The Signavio Business Transformation Suite has been available since April 2017. Signavio Process Manager unites Process Editor with Decision Manager. These are joined by Signavio Workflow Accelerator and Signavio Process Intelligence as part of the Suite.
