Are you just getting started with your process initiative and Business Process Management Notation (BPMN)? Or are you currently challenged to document your processes across your entire organization? Wouldn’t it be great if there was a BPMN E-Learning course to help you and your team become BPMN professionals?

How to get familiar with BPMN

In this blog post we present the advantages of the modeling standard along with our brand new E-Learning format for Signavio customers and others interested in BPMN. Our first course will take place in November and will be held in German. An English version will soon come up.

You can’t beat BPMN 2.0 – but what makes this modeling standard so great?

If you’ve chosen to use BPMN 2.0, you’ve already made a good decision – not only because it is an internationally accepted standard, but also because how easy it is to learn. BPMN is the ideal basis for a successful business process management roundtrip. This means it can be exported without any difficulties and imported again, for example into execution platforms or in SAP® Solution Manager. BPMN has the potential to bridge the gap between business and IT and make your daily work more efficient.

This modeling language has many advantages for individual employees too, as it can be modeled intuitively and is easy to understand. Just do the following experiment: Describe a process in a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet. Model the same process with BPMN 2.0 and show each version to your colleagues. You will be amazed how quickly tasks and responsibilities within the BPMN process can be captured. Thanks to the modeling standard, enterprises can increase the transparency of their daily operations and ensure clearly defined responsibilities.

A process initiative only works if it is shared and supported by all. Especially at the beginning of a process initiative, companies must devise a strategy to establish BPMN within their organization. They must engage each staff member in the process-oriented way of thinking by having individuals model processes themselves. If each employee is able to directly and easily document and understand processes, this provides an opportunity to gain valuable input for improving daily business. BPMN 2.0 is therefore a great method for collaborative work.

BPMN E-Learning focused on real-world application

All BPM initiatives require methodological know-how to go along with the right tool:

  • How do I model uniformly?
  • Why should I use a glossary and how?
  • What kind of attributes exist?

If you’re looking for an excellent basic training, we would be happy to help. Our BPMN E-Learning Course, “Introduction to BPMN 2.0”, is the second part of a series and will be conducted in German, with an English version is coming next February. The course takes place over a period of 4 weeks. The big advantage of this course is the way it is taught, with a focus on practical examples and exercises including direct feedback from our experienced trainers. This helps you become a professional modeler within weeks, empowering you to quickly tackle BPM projects. Best of all - you only need to set aside a 60-90 minute timeslot per week.

What are the benefits?

  • Participants benefit from the guidance of our experienced BPM coaches.
  • Immediate feedback will be provided after resolving practical exercises and passing a final exam.
  • You will receive a BPMN certificate at the end of the course.
  • You will be working with the Signavio Process Editor, one of the world’s most modern BPM tools.
  • The course is completely free of charge.

The BPMN E-Learning course is ideal for those who are looking for a first approach to business process modeling, or those who want to strengthen their basic knowledge.
