Effektif launches cloud-based workflow platform

Workflow vendor Effektif today officially launched its new cloud service. The product launch follows a €1.2m investment by Signavio in March 2013.

Effektif was founded by Tom Baeyens, the initiator of popular open source projects jBPM and Activiti. It enables business users to implement and run their daily processes within minutes.

This business process platform as a service (bpmPaaS) is designed to organize repetitive work within the enterprise. The product goes beyond project-oriented or checklist-style task management: It adds the process dimension for recurring tasks as well as system integration capabilities for end-to-end enterprise processes. A range of pre-configured connectors help to integrate enterprise systems.

“Cloud-based workflow platforms are on the rise. By directly targeting the business user, they help to reach broader adoption of BPM within the enterprise”, Nathaniel Palmer, founding editor of BPM.com, says. “Self-organization on the team and department level using ad hoc workflows are a powerful tool for every organization”, Markus Wissing, Head of Application Technology Architecture at Bombardier Transportation, adds.
