Premium Edition: Presentation at the DMS-Expo 2009

bpm-visionMeet Signavio at the BPM-Vision and take a look at the Premium Edition of the Signavio Process Editor. You will find our booth at the DMS-Expo from 15 until 17 September at the DMS-Expo in Cologne. Numerous new features will help you realize professional business process management.

Some of the Premium Edition's highlights are:

  • Glossary functionality: The central vocabulary management helps you organize role descriptions, data objects and activities throughout your repository. That way you can enforce consistent language in your process landscape. You can navigate from diagram elements to the glossary and you can navigate from glossary items to those diagrams where the item is used. The auto completion features speeds up modeling and helps you increase the data quality at the same time.
  • Detailed access rights management: You can define user groups and grant access to folders and diagrams on a detailed level. Of course, you still have the distinction between "My documents" and "Shared documents" as you know it from the Team Edition at hand.
  • Full text search: Not only can you search diagrams by their title, the brandnew search functionality also includes all captions used within diagrams, comments and descriptions in the glossary. This function helps you navigate quickly through your process landscape.
  • Value chain diagrams: These high-level process diagrams helps you organize your process hierarchies more easily. You can use the linking mechanisms to define refinements using BPMN or EPC diagrams.

Come to BPM-Vision to get to know Signavio. Please do not hesitate to contact us to schedule a personal meeting at our booth.

Improved usability

shape-menu-enProcess modeling must be simple. That is why we are continuously improving the usability of the Signavio Process Editor.

The brandnew interactive shortcut menu allows you to create diagrams even faster and easier. Once you have selected a diagram element, all possible successors are enumerated. This saves a lot of time and increases diagram quality at the same time.

Thanks to a close collaboration with the Open-Source-project Oryx we were able to quickly integrate this new shortcut menu.

Stay tuned to more usability improvement over the next weeks! Edge layouting is next...

Do you have further suggestions for how to improve the usability? Please do not hesitate to contact us.

BPMN 2.0 at Signavio

Signavio is committed to BPMN 2.0. Signavio helps you to get to know the new version of the popular standard. Being a co-founder and supporter of the Berlin BPM initiative (http://www.bpmb.de), Signavio also played an active role in the BPMN 2.0 event at the Humboldt University of Berlin on May 27 2009: Managing director Torben Schreiter gave an overview of the choreography modeling capabilities of BPMN 2.0. 75 attendees could get a first impression of the new standard in the beautiful Holy-Ghost-Chapel in downtown Berlin.

BPMN 2.0 plays a major role for the Signavio Process Editor. With the official release of the standard there will be full support, as you already know it for BPMN 1.2 with the Signavio Process Editor. Thanks to migration functionality you will be able to directly convert your BPMN 1.2 diagrams to BPMN 2.0. In collaboration with the Hasso-Plattner-Institute and the Berlin BPM initiative we are working on an in-depth online presentation of the new features, enabling you to have a quick start.
