Finalist of the Innovation Award Berlin-Brandenburg

Signavio is one of the finalists of this year's Innovation Award Berlin-Brandenburg and the only IT company that made it to the round of the final 6. More than 150 companies from Berlin and Brandenburg had applied for this award.

The jury was convinced by Signavio's novel approach to business process design, allowing to get a large number of employees involved using the Signavio Process Editor. This, in turn, helps to achieve process transparency, realize innovation potential and finally improve the business processes of an organization.

The new Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport (bbi) served as location for today's award ceremony. The Secretary for Economy and European Affairs of Brandenburg, Ralf Christoffers, and Berlin's Senator for Economy, Technology and Women, Harald Wolf, awarded the following three companies:

  • Alexander Schuke Potsdam-Orgelbau GmbH
  • Bombardier Transportation GmbH
  • ProBioGen AG

New: The Business Process Manager for Salesforce

Companies managing their customer relationships through the Internet platform www.salesforce.com are now able to optimize their business processes through the same platform. Signavio and the German Salesforce-partner GMP webServices jointly realized the first Salesforce application covering the area of Business Process Management.

"With more than 60.000 customers, Salesforce is the world's biggest provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) over the Internet", explains Torben Schreiter, Managing Director of Signavio. The 'Business Process Manager for Salesforce' allows to create and edit business process models. A direct integration with the corresponding input forms of the CRM-software is possible. Reporting functionality and an activity management complete the offering.

"Reports that are provided by Salesforce can be integrated directly", Gerhard Mack points out. He is the CEO of GMP webServices. The users are enabled to apply individual changes to predefined process models. The final process models can be made available to all employees. "The Salesforce-system turns into an organization-wide process portal", Mack emphasizes.

In contrast to classical solutions for process management, Signavio's solution does not require any software installation at the customer side. This helps to avoid the costs for running their own IT infrastructure and the upfront investments thanks to the subscription model. "A business department is now able to decide for themselves which software solution they want to employ, without needing to apply for resources with the IT department", Schreiter puts it.

Signavio won the first prize of this year's multimedia founders competition for its innovative solution. The new solution now addresses customers in the US and the UK for the first time.

Insights on "Getting everybody involved - Collaborative process design at AOK health insurance" were Signavio's contribution to this year's Pan-European Corporate Process Management Conference. Gero Decker explained in his talk how appropriate tooling can help to get more employees involved in business process design. The high-ranking corporate process managers showed special interest in how a shared process platform (as it is deployed at AOK health insurance) can foster cross-organizational collaboration.

Many well-known companies such as Daimler Financial Services, Shell International, Siemens and Allianz also shared their experience with business process management. The conference took place at Maritim Hotel Berlin on October 21 and 22. You will find more information on the conference homepage.
